Reflect is a company working in data visualization based in Portland, Oregon. The company, in the year 2016 announced that it has successfully raised a whooping amount of $2.5 million on an oversubscribed seed round. This round of funding was led by the Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Other than Reflect, there were some other participants such as Founders’ Co-Op, Liquid 2 Ventures, Standford University, Techstarts, and several other angel investors.
The co-founder and CEO of Reflect, Alex Bilmes spent the last six years in the field of data visualization. He worked as Cloudability, a company where he was the first hire and ran designs for it. He later came in contact with his co-founder Brad Heller at the Lucid Labs. This was the place where worked as a design partner. While working on data visualization, some companies asked Bilmes how he built them at the core of Cloudability’s service. This idea then made him decide to strike out of the current position and lay the foundations of a company that had “visualization as a service.”
