How to use LinkedIn to Market your Brand

The success of any business is dependent on its strong online presence. For this, it is important to build a strong and recognizable online presence. The best way to get global exposure is to develop a strong profile on LinkedIn. The platform is the world’s largest professional platform and networking site. The platform has developed to become more than just a networking site.

Rather, LinkedIn for business is now helping business owners all over the globe. Small, mid-sized, as well as some of the biggest brands in the market, are using this platform to get in touch with other businesses as well as the audience. LinkedIn is also used by businesses to follow prominent business leaders, founders, industry influencers, potential clients, and future team members.

A highly active presence on LinkedIn is highly important for the business to stay on the top of the mind of its audience. High activity is indicated by following and engaging with people. The business also needs to interact with the help of content and fill the feed with the most relevant and engaging content.

No matter if you simply want to grow your business or spread your brand awareness, here are six ways in which you can use LinkedIn to market your brand

Start with a Profile or a Page

The very first thing that you should make clear is whether to use a profile or a page for your LinkedIn marketing ideas. Individual profiles are created for a specific person. On the other hand, a business page is created for a company.

The personal profile helps to develop your own brand credibility. On the other hand, the business page is developed to create general brand awareness. The personal profile also depicts your thought leadership which positively impacts your business image in the market.

Keep the Profile Updated

Your LinkedIn profile must be updated so that it rightfully reflects your brand image. The cover photo of your profile must be relevant. Try to put a logo of your business on the cover image to make it more effective. The title section should be quite informative and should let the people know what your business is all about.

The About section of your profile should be up to date. I should highlight the key message that you want to share with your audience about your business. Your LinkedIn profile must mention your current role in the company and a clear list of all the responsibilities that you have as a part of the team. If there is a business page, it is good to add a link to the page.

Develop Connections

Once you are on this network, it is time to build and develop connections with people, potential employees, clients, or business partners. Do not simply press the button Connect. Instead, try to make the connections more engaging by making the invitations more personalized. The message you send whole sending an invitation can include the reason why you want to connect and how you know each other. You can also join new groups that are relevant to your target audience. This way, you will not only get to know what they have to say and what is there in the market, but it will also help you to interact with other business owners and get a good exposure to the industry.

Develop and Grow Email Marketing List

If possible, write a letter to each of the LinkedIn connections. This letter should say thank you for being connected on LinkedIn. You can also mention that you are inviting them to be a part of your email marketing campaign list. It is ok if the email is not highly personalized. With LinkedIn, you can send a message up to 50 people at a time. The email that you send can include a link to the email signup. Also, it is wise if you let the people know what they should expect when they sign up with the email marketing list.

Consistency is the Key

The key is to post regularly and on a consistent basis. When you share and publish insightful content on networking sites like LinkedIn, it will help you to position your place in the industry and increase your credibility in the market.

You can either share posts on this channel or develop and shared detailed articles for the same. Posts can be used to share quick tips, celebrations, or events. On the other hand, articles can be used to share long-form topics. If your business already has a blog or a newsletter, it is best to share them on the social media platform to get more reach on the business website.

Include Hashtags

Not only the most popular social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube should use hashtags. But, hashtags have become discovery tools for LinkedIn as well. Do not miss the most relevant and trending hashtags on the posts that you make on LinkedIn. If you do not have any idea about which hashtags to use, then you can use websites such as Ritetag and Webmetrics. These will help to generate some of the top-performing hashtags for your post that are based on the keywords that you supply.

Also, do not overstuff your LinkedIn posts with a lot of hashtags. It is best that you do not include more than five hashtags on this platform.

Involve the Employees

Request all your employees to create and complete their LinkedIn profiles. The profiles must include appropriate photos, current job roles and responsibilities, and the relevant job history. The profile should reflect how they have been contributing to your business and add value to it.

Like Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn is also a social media channel. So it is important to build a social media network through this channel. Do not just make a post, do not avoid or miss to reply to any comments. Keeping the conversations active and going. This will help to develop a strong engagement with the audience and a prominent position in the market.
